"The Seven Follies of Lampedusa" was my master graduation project at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture, in 2017.

The project researches the consequences of the "borderization" narrative on the island of Lampedusa, one of the main arrival points for migrants on the Mediterranean route. Seven follies in the island's landscape define a physical and metaphorical line alternative to the border, challenging the status quo in relation to borders and migration.

The project won the Audience Award at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture 2017 Graduation Show, and was nominated for the Young Talent Architecture Award (Mies van der Rohe Foundation).
